Sport Central collect gently used and new sporting equipment from designated equipment drop-off locations in Edmonton and surrounding areas.  Click here to find a drop-off location near you.

Sorting & Repair

Volunteers and staff sort all donated sport equipment and bicycles.  Great condition sport equipment and bicycles are inventoried for immediate use.  Equipment and bicycles in need of repair are triaged to the repair shop.  Once repaired, the equipment and bicycles are inventoried for use.

Outfitting

Sport Central’s staff and volunteers measure and outfit kids in person to ensure a perfect fit.  Our first priority is to provide equipment for kids and youth in the Edmonton and surrounding area.

Our second priority is to ensure that no children or youth from Red Deer to the northern border of Alberta, miss out on sports due to a lack of equipment. Sport Central will also consider requests from out of province if we have a surplus of the equipment requested.

Purchasing

There are some items that Sport Central must purchase, some for safety reasons and others because they are not often donated. Click here for a list of new and used items we need.

Recycling

Sport Central believes in bringing new life to old equipment. Not only do volunteers repair equipment, but they also save bicycle parts, hockey helmet masks and parts, and recycle bent or broken metal and cardboard.

Fundraising

Sport Central fund raises for purchased equipment through a combination of Special Events, Government Grant Proposals, Foundation Grant Proposals and our Annual Mark Spector Golf Classic Tournament
